COCOA/ROCKLEDGE CHRISTMAS PARADE 2002

On Saturday, December 14, 2002 we entered a float in the Cocoa/Rockledge Christmas Parade for the second year. With parents, leaders and girls all working together, we made a float that fit exactly with this year's theme of "Hometown Holidays" and composed this song for the girls to sing and act out with props:

At Christmas time in Rockledge
this is what you'll see,
12 flowers blooming
11 Raiders winning
10 Girl Scouts singing
9 boats a sailing
8 lawn flamingos
7 dolphins playing
6 tourists swimming
5 orange groves
4 space shuttles
3 big gators
2 flowing rivers
and the sun shining down on Rockledge!

In spite of the cold, all the girls managed to keep smiling and the judges were so impressed we won FIRST PLACE in our division! Thanks once again to our adopted 'Frownie' and sponsor Mr. Hensley for giving up his time and his trailer, and the smooth ride down the parade route!
